• Easy to Culture at Home – Low-maintenance worms that thrive in simple, inexpensive setups; reproduce quickly for a steady supply.

• WIll arrive in either 8 oz, 12 oz, or 16 oz container. The amount of worms within the substrate is what matters rather than the container size. The picture shows a quarter to half dollar-size area of worms gathering over oats during feeding, which is the amount you will recieve.

Give your pets a nutritious, protein-rich live food source with our Grindal Worm Starter Culture. Grindal worms (Enchytraeus buchholzi) are small (generally between 5 mm - 12 mm in length), easy-to-raise white worms that make an ideal live food for tropical fish, bettas, fry, dwarf cichlids, small amphibians, reptiles, and even some invertebrates. Our cultures are healthy, active, and fast-growing, making it simple for you to maintain your own long-term supply of live worms at home. Grindal worms are known for their high protein and fat content, promoting vibrant color, faster growth, and better breeding success in your animals. Each order includes a starter culture with live worms, ready to expand into a thriving colony with basic care. Simply provide a moist substrate (soil, coconut coir, etc.), feed sparingly, and harvest as needed. Whether you’re a breeder, hobbyist, or just want to provide the very best nutrition for your pets, our grindal worms are a reliable, high-quality choice. Grindal Worm Care Guide Grindal worms (Enchytraeus buchholzi) are hardy, easy to culture, and reproduce quickly under the right conditions. Follow these simple care tips to keep your colony thriving: Temperature: 68–77°F (20–25°C) is ideal. Avoid temps above 80°F, as colonies may crash. Container: Use a small plastic box or tub with a tight-fitting lid. Drill or poke small air holes. Medium: Moistened coconut fiber, potting soil (without fertilizer), or sponge pads all work well. Keep damp, not waterlogged. Feeding: Provide small amounts of food every 1–3 days. Oatmeal, soaked dry cat food, bread, or powdered fish food works well. Remove leftovers to prevent mold. Moisture: Keep the culture moist but never soggy. If too dry, worms burrow deep; if too wet, they may die off. Harvesting: Scrape worms from the surface or place food on a piece of plastic/mesh—worms will climb on it for easy collection. Lighting: Keep in a dark or shaded place; avoid direct sunlight. Maintenance: Refresh substrate every 1–2 months to prevent souring. Start backup cultures for reliability. With regular care, your culture will produce a continuous supply of protein-rich live worms for your fish, frogs, and reptiles.
